no strain, though I am certainly tired of making that trip so many times. Glad it’s over. Here I thought I didn’t have much stuff, but after three weeks of hauling I have a renewed appreciation for just how much crap I still have.

Finally done moving. Took a while, at the rate of one backpack a trip (two trips on weekends), but I’m finally done. Almost all on my back, had to borrow a friend with a car for the larger items (table, bookshelves, etc…).

no clue. Sellers thought it was newish even though all the inspectors said it’s done.

small house means a small roof. Expensive, but not unmanageable.

so much to do. I’ve ordered a new roof. Once that’s done I’ll get the windows repaired. Meanwhile I’m tearing up carpet myself and will probably need someone to help resurface the wood floor. And on and on and… I’m sure it’ll be nice once all this gets done, but for now it’s just a huge to-do list.

Last night was the first night at the new place. Still plenty of moving yet to be done, but closer to the end than the start now.

sounds like you had an exciting day! Thank you for your efforts.

meh. I never really cared. I’d just get high enough marks on the tests that losing a letter or so from homework didn’t keep me from passing. My teachers must have hated me.
Until that stopped working (as it eventually does for us all) and I then I had to put serious effort into walking those damn papers in.

also makes it easier for the kid to just say “to heck with it” and smash the disk rather than sort through it all.

Also, parents: you do not need to keep every little thing involving your kid.

While it’s funny to read my elementary teachers lamenting my lack of motivation, these report cards really could have been tossed decades ago.
