She was nice about it of course, she’s a wonderful person who is always a delight to work with. But I know it’s an inconvenience for her to deal with the fallout from my numerical incompetencies.
So embarrassing that I had to go to my GirlScoutCookie supplier and admit I miscounted and had to order more. I felt like such a twit — I even had a list and everything and yet I’m two ‘baskets’ short. :(
In related news, it’s funny to hear Apple talking about how they don’t think data loss is a risk worth worrying about while their cloud services suffer data loss.
It says a lot about our society that people have such a hard time believing that you might give them a gift for absolutely no ‘reason’ at all. They ask so many questions and keep probing for the reason, as though simple kindness is not enough.
@matigo didn’t start that way. My first barefoot run only went half a block before having to put on shoes. Slowly, day after day getting slightly better.
@matigo dunno, really, as I don’t track the runs or have a predetermined route. The jog home from work is an exception, and what I did yesterday. That’s about 4.5mi (depending on precisely where on campus I start and how many blocks of ‘cool down’ I want before getting home). Most days I just start running around and stay out till I feel like going home. About 30-45min I think? But I’m super slow so probably still in the 3 to 5 mile range.
Between sick and scheduling it has been a few weeks since I jogged. Finally got back out again yesterday. Was nice, but a shame I had to wear shoes. The rains leave much debris on the ground which makes it harder to spot the hazardous stuff, so barefoot isn’t wise this time of year.
